Black-and-white Colobus

Black-and-white Colobus image. Very distinctive monkey having a v-shaped mantle of long white hair on its lower back and down the sides. It has a long, bushy tail with a white patch near the tip, and a white beard. Preferring young foliage and fruits, but also able to cope with mature foliage too fibrous or toxic for other monkeys, Black and White Colobus Monkeys inhabit a wide range of forest habitats, even of low diversity and a prolonged dry season. They form troops of 6 to 10 individuals with 1 male, keeping remarkably small territories (5-25 ha).
