Civet image. A thin-legged, heavy-set carnivore with a medium-sized tail, buff-coloured with irregular spots, blotches and lines as well as a racoon-like black and white face mask. Within its fixed homerange of woodland near permanent water, it feeds on vegetables and fruits, but also animals up to the size of newborn antelope, and carrion. The musky-smelling oil from its glands is used in perfume production.
