DikdikA dwarf antelope with pointed, mobile snout, hairy muffle and large eyes and ears. Its coat is grizzled gray to gray-brown above with tan legs and flanks and whitish under parts and eyeing; the rams carrying short spike-like horns. It is associated with rocky ground offering good cover and browse, but without tall herbage. Kirk´s Dik-diks are pure browsers, eating leaves, shoots and fruits, often standing bipedal to reach higher; they are completely water-independent. Being most active at night, especially on moonlit nights, they are territorial, monogamous and closely associated.
