Klipspringer image. A small antelope with short body, massive hindquarters, a yellowish to brown coat of hollow, brittle hairs, and ears with dark lines inside and a black outside border; the rams bear spike-like wide-set, upstanding horns. These animals are closely associated with steep, rocky terrain, offering refuge from predators. They eat leaves, new shoots, fruits, flowers and herbs. Living in pairs, which always keep close together, the male plays a watchdog role, keeping a territory with an inselberg or kopje as home.
