Mongoose (Dwarf)

Mongoose (Dwarf) image. Being africas smallest carnivore, it is about the size and colour of a red squirrel, with a pink nose. Its prefered habitat includes termite mounds, thickets and open woodland, and it is commonly seen around wildlife lodges, as it is strictly diurnal. Dwarf Mongoose form packs with one breeding pair, consisting of about 12 to 18 individuals, including 2 or 3 adult males. They are known to forage together with Bush Hornbills, some packs every day.
