Mongoose (White-tailed)

Mongoose (White-tailed) image. A very large brown-gray mongoose with dark-brown or black underparts and lower legs, ist tail usually being white.Its rump is slightly higher than its shoulders when walking. Feeding mainly on invertebrates but also vertebrates, with termites and ants forming the mainstay in Serengeti animals, it is most abundant in grassland habitats. White-tailed Mongoose retire underground before dawn, being active by night. Usually living solitary, they are also known to form loose groups.
